Just a heads up, steam has a 1day Battlefield sale on at the moment, pick up Bad company 2 for $8.50nz! which is a hell of a good deal! i paid $90 for it when it came out a year ago and that was a bargin considering ive put in 150 hours so far :).
Really active community and some solid NZ based servers at ON3 (telstra). Every night there are 3/4 NZ servers with 32 players in them, then there is the Aus servers on top of that,  in other words theres no problems finding low ping servers to play on.

Steam sale page

I just picked up the Vietnam addon for $9.50, cant wait to get home and give it a go.

Hey that's awesome, thanks a lot for the heads up!

Been trying to get my friend playing BFBC2 off and on for a while now, I just gifted it to him, so he'll have no excuse now haha :)

I hope you enjoy Vietnam, it took me a little while to get into but I find myself playing it more than the original now, it's really well done. This coming from a guy who cant stand the majority of FPS games these days!

Its an insane deal, cant believe its that cheap! Hell of a game, even for $50 its a steal. I brought the two GTA4 addon's (ballard of gay tony and Lost and the dammed) for $8 the other week when they were on sale at steam, they seem to be doing a lot of good sales lately. Have yet to play GTA4 though, 16gb download, ouch, got through 8gb of it last month and will finish it off this month lol.

Are there many/any NZ vietnam servers? it looks like a fun game from the montages ive seen previously.

Haha yeah, some great deals on steam that's for sure, can be a little brutal on data usage though I agree.

There are probably a few more but ON3 operate 5 Vietnam servers, they're sometimes a bit quiet but there's usually at least one with something happening on it most nights. Failing that, I find the GameArena servers in aussie are pretty reasonable. I was always a bit iffy on playing international servers due to ping etc but to be honest I dont really notice it that much (but then I'm no hardcore gamer). Good enough for me to have fun anyway.

8.50?! Frak me....

Vietnam is fun... pity there aren't many more maps to the add-on/unlock.

These Steam sales sure are hurting my wallet! Luckily I wasn't slowed down when I went over my cap last month ;)

I picked up Battlefield plus BF Vietnam and GTAIV plus the two expansions.

I have to say I'm incredibly disappointed with GTAIV, first a hefty 15gb download (plus another 15gb for the two expansions) and then it turns out to be an incredibly bad console port!
My PC can handle Mass Effect 2 at 1920x1200 with 2x AA and I get around 50-60FPS.
But GTAIV runs slowly at 1280x720 with no AA at all. What a waste of time, money and bandwidth!

Battlefield on the other hand is excellent ;)

Just do a search for 'ON3' in the server browser [capital ON] and you should see a bunch :)

GTA IV is quite a bit more demanding that Mass Effect 2, I run GTA IV near max settings, can't crank it up more due to only having 1GB of VRAM, runs very smooth, I also bought Mass Effect 2, just need to get around to playing it.
