So i visited the gaming department of JB-HiFi WGTN city today to preorder LA noir and i just have to say that i was impressed. It's been a long time since i've been to another gaming store apart from my local here in Jville  and all i have had to say about them is negative. The products were many and the prices pissed all over my local store but the best thing was the service.
That is all, just had to balance my rants.

I agree with you. JB in wellington is very good, and they guys down there are friendly. For me though, they don't beat mighty ape. Mighty Ape's site is so nice, quick ordering, release day delivery. Any price DSE or JB have had better has been beaten by a few dollars by MA.

JB's is too handy to ignore for me so I consider it my 'local'. The guys are very helpful and knowledgeable.

MightyApe have some crazy sales at times so they're hard to ignore and often worth the extra days wait for freight for decent savings.

Having said all that I do comparative shopping as well. Saved $30 on Mass Effect II about 6 months ago walking to EB Games on Cuba St. Never bothered to get into price matching at JB's so guess I'm just a gaming store slut ;-)

Seriously? The Aussies blocked that too?! They're quickly turning into more of a nanny state than we are...

+1. Their facebook page keeps everyone well in check. In the context that they have good service on facebook! But back to JB, I've always had support for them. The service again as mention at the opening of the thread, is actually at tip-top shape. The staff really know what they are talking about (concerning gaming that is Wink).

I have had very good service from Mighty Ape, I accidently brought an online only game without realising it, they were quick to offer a refund. Usually I am very impatient when I decide I want a game it is an a whim so I have to have it NOW! I usually go to the Warehouse or JB.

as far as JB Hifi range in Australia, massive is all I can say, stuff you couldn't imagine! and the price is very hard to beat.

I got Family Guy season 9 for $25 AUD before it was released in NZ sold 2 copies on Trademe and paid for all the copies and a PS3 game and set of headphones!

I also find their over the phone service excellent, I have many times called up to see if they had something in stock and the price, they are always quick to offer to keep it aside for you until you can get there.

Their customer service focus is really excellent, which is somewhat surprising since they are usually the cheapest as well.

Hmm, very interesting for JB Australia. Bit of a bonus since the AUS$ is soaring haha :p
