Hi All

I'm having a problem downloading & installing games from the Welcome Back selection.
The games I've chosen are: Infamous & Little Big Planet.

The games download fine, but when installing them it comes up with Error 80029564 @ 14%

I've tried the following:
- Download in background
- Not download in background
- Re-download several times
- Restore to factory settings

None of that helps.

Has anyone had any issues & managed to get the games to install successfully?

Common sense is not as common as you think.

downloaded Infamous and Wipeout.

Both took a few attempts to start the download, but once they started they downloaded, installed, and played just fine.

Try on someone elses internet connection.... might have to throw them a few bucks to cover the data usage but if it works.... :)

Have you tried deleting the corrupt file then restarting the PS3 and then redownloading and installing the game. I think the key is to restart your PS3 after deleting the corrupted file.

I am no longer able to get into the section where the free games are available.

I go into the Welcom Back section of the store and try to select the second option which shows the 5 games but it doesn't take me anywhere.

I downloaded Dead nation on Sunday and was going to download Wipeout Fury last night but couldn't find the option to download free games anymore and this game shows a price if I find it in the list of available games it has a price.

Is it possible that as I accidentally selected Dead Nation 3 times [I didn't think it was downloading and ended up selecting it 3 times] has that used up my 3 free games selection? This seems odd as surely it would know it was the same game.

First of all you only have two free games. Second, follow these steps to get your second free game.

On the XMB go to account management --> transaction management --> service list --> PSN Promotion. It should take you back to the free game selection to choose your second free game.

Do you have multiple accounts setup with PSN network?
Did you download the welcome pack to the other accounts?(not games, just welcome pack)

I did and after days of logging in/out of PSN to see if the games came back, I thought I would check my other profiles. Sure enough they were available on the last profile I downloaded the Welcome pack too.3

I was trying to download all the games by getting two on one profile, two on another and the last on my third.
I guess they thought about that and managed to stop it.

I think I may have selected to download two games and not realise it. Even if I haven't downloaded it, I have moved two into my downloads queue and then there is no option to remove one.

I have Ratchet and clank and Dead Nation in my download list even if I have only downloaded one of them, there seems to be no way to remove them once they are in the DL list.

Ah well I have LBP and Infamous so I guess I can download R&C when I have some Cap left.

Thanks. I tried that, but no luck. Just wasting my data cap Cry

I tried contacting PlayStation support & got the same things from them to try.

No free games for me I guess

having same problem, wipeout hd. This sucks. Downloaded it again, just first file, thinking maybe got to be installed in order. It downloaded installed fine. Then when goto download list under account management, to get other files it comes up no content found. There should be over 50 games in there. Were all showing before brought free game pack. Sony screwed something big time. Also under driving games in store comes up no content found so can't get other files that way.

Everything showing on download list except wipeout hd, which is already installed. Used list to download wipeout unlock. Ran it and downloaded 3 update files, hopefully with update files the fury pack will download and install ok.

Im new to ps3 been a 360 gamer since release, but decided I wanted some ps3 exclusives and Blu-ray playback.
But I would seem their entire digital distribution method seems quite convoluted to me.
I work in the custom electrical design and home automation industry so I consider myself quite competent when it comes to all things technical. So when I choose the content I want to redeem, select download, I was taken back to the main Playstation store screen.
My assumption was that it would be on the xmb waiting for me to download.
Turns out I had to google it and go through some transaction settings menu?... Surely this isn't user friendly for average Joe consumer!!..

Looks like you've done something wrong (PEBKAC?). That's not how it usually goes for me. Usually, it starts downloading and you can choose background download. Then there is a section on the XMB with the download progress.

Once it's downloaded it appears as an install file under Games and once installed you can play it. Not sure which step you messed up.

Are you referring to the welcome back free games, cos I think that probably had something to do with only letting PSN members who had an account before 20/4/11. Was a bit messy I know, but it won't happen to any other things you download.

Also as you are a 360 user, it will take some getting used to the PS3 layout. The two systems seem to do a lot of the same stuff in completely different ways. I'm a PS3 user and I was at my friends place playing on their Xbox, I was in the menu and noticed they hadn't set up media streaming, so I was like I'll do it now, won't take long thinking it would be much like the PS3. Oh how wrong I was. Wasn't too sure what I was really doing in the end as I was also not very familiar with Media Center, got there in the end though just seemed to be far more complex then the PS3 though. But an Xbox user might say vice versa.
