So, do I need to buy this game given that I thought the original Deux Ex was amazing, and the 2nd one was terrible?

If you don't mind the 40 seconds of ads that you CAN'T SKIP at the beginning and the boss fights. (Where even if you use non-lethal take downs, the cutscenes show that you've shot him full of bullets)

There is a mod to skip the adverts..

I am enjoying it, much more than mass effect and its ilk.

Would certainly recommend it.

I have played maybe 80% of the way through and have not killed anyone yet. (One guy died, but it was a sudden stop at the bottom that killed him, not me.)

Disable intro (this stops all the logos loading, you just see a quick wall of text, and then straight to the main menu).
And loads, loads, more.

Looks like the PC version is the way to go in that case, probably not a bad thing given that it's a tad cheaper.

I p1r4t3dz0r3d it because a) it cost more on steam in NZ than it did in NZ and b) I heard about the ads and c) it had some bullshiit random boss fights that are hard for no reason, so meh.

Funnelly enough, I downloaded the original Deus ex aaages ago and then bought it when it was on steam and then never actually played it. XD.

The same with torchlight..

Its not a bad game except for the boss fights. (I found a cheat for the 1st boss fight).
