There are daily deals and weekly deals.

For example game A may be on sale today for 75% off, but the deal is only for 24hrs. After 24hrs it either returns to its non sale price or get a smaller discount.

A huge number of games are discounted all week, and then every day a few games get a further discount. Pays to check in daily. If you see a daily deal you want it pays to pull the trigger and not wait.

I love Steam although typically a console gamer I have found lots of good games at good prices on there. Two things I have found though the constant updating is annoying and the other with all the games I've bought I just don't play them lol (this sadly seems to be be happening with my Xbox too got all the newer games BF3, Gears 3, Halo Anniversary, Saints Row 3 (had this one 3 days and still not made it into my console) but I am finding myself just not playing much.

Woo Steam sale!

Be aware that some publishers have absurd/significant regional price differences,

I mean look at Skryim, $30 USD difference for the same game, delivered digitally over the internet WTF

http://store.steampowered.com/app/72850/?cc=NZ

Always worth a check via the above trick (append ?cc=US vs ?cc=NZ to the url) to compare the difference.

Personally I have some mates in Canada that I get to gift me anything that's got an extreme difference.

Bethesda, THQ, 2K Games are pretty bad for this carry-on.

I've never seen Valve do it on their own games.

Tried getting Modern Warfare 2 because it was $19.99 clicked buy for myself and then it was going to charge my credit card $49.99! Wasn't too happy but ended up getting Burnout Paradise instead for something to do, nearly at 100 games owned in total most of them during the Steam summer sale

I picked up Modern Warfare 2 when these guys had it on sale a few months back for $25, it is linked to steam but you do need to download impulse, once impulse is running you can take the serial number and drop it straight into steam and you're away and laughing.

awesome.
It’s effectively an action tower defence (well, ‘trap’ defence would be more appropriate).   i.e. a TD game where you set up fixed lines of defences against waves of enemies, but where you also have an avatar in 3rd person who can roam the field using spells etc to help kill the creeps.

It’s receieved very good reviews, and I have ben enjoying it a lot.  It’s got quite a lot of replay value too as you can go back to earlier stages and use the later traps and spells to improve your scores.

Well worth the original price of $15, and a steal at the $4 I paid. (USD)

When was MW2 ever $19.99? Its currently $44.99 down from $89.99, and that's one of the daily sales. Might have been a previous sale but its not been $19.99 as part of the current autumn sale.
