In 2009 the movie 2012 made more money than Up.  Higher sales doesn't necessarily mean better.

Different games, should not even be rated together. Bethsheda are expected to generate $450 million in sales. That's a win.

What I would like to know is what sold the most out of BF 3 and MW3.

BF3 fan here.

MW3 made 650m sales in 5 days :o !

i think BF3 sold less copies, but definitely making a cut of market share for activision

That's true, but as above, doesn't mean it's a better or even good game

I got so sick of Call of Duty after Black Ops

Run, point shoot(auto aim takes over) then run point shoot

It's just a pointless game overall.  Although maybe because I'm now in my teens/early twenties anymore and need a bit more purpose to a game than the COD series has.  Think my favourite was still COD4

Definitely right about BF3 taking a cut too, that's probably what i'd like to play more.  I might take a look at it when the price drops a bit :)

650mil Far out! lol Thats pretty good of em.

I just got BF3 on Friday and loved the single player campaign, just getting use to the multi player maps. But enjoying the game.  Might try out MW3 when I get sick of bf3 which might take a while.

My teenage kids have bought both MW3 and Skyrim as they played the predecessors.

MW3 multiplayer connections were terrible early on - they might have improved by now as there are updates most days - so my son has stopped playing it. He doesn't want to get a low kill-to-death ratio. He continually had the problem where you shoot someone from behind getting hit markers and they have time to turn around and shoot you and win the exchange.

Skyrim has all three boys on it. It's far from perfect and there is a lot of obvious faults but they haven't complained about anything at all.

BF3 on it's release week sold less than 500k* copies on the PC platform....   what a shocker.  PS3 + 360 versions combined only sold 4million+ during the same period.

MW3 = 6.5million copies.  Curious to find out out of that figure, how much of it was solely for PC.

*500k physical copies sold, it does not include the number of digital copies sold via Origin, D2D etc*

It always amazes me how many people buy the overpriced bi-annual CoD and BF re-treads.

I think Call of Duty is a major laugh. They essentially have perfected selling people the exact same game for higher and higher prices. Granted I have not played MW3 yet, and frankly I don't care to, but MW1, MW2 and Black Ops all felt the same. Great storyline, good weapons, no destructible terrain, no free wheel vehicles and linear multiplayer (again no Vehicles and large expansive maps).

However you cannot argue it makes the money
