Does anyone know if Kinect  works the older Xbox 360s? or if its only those new slim ones.

I've been told they need an adapter to work, but I don't know if this is true. Plus I don't know what the method for connection is, I had assumed Kinect was connected via USB - Which all Xboxs have anyway.

Any help would be great, thanks.

If it is a old xbox 360 the kinect needs to be powered from a power adapter rather then from the xbox itself. Other then that it will work exactly the same. The new xbox's just have a high power USB port which removes the need for the power brick which comes with the kinect anyway.

What Nety said.. They need a seperate adaptor to work on PC's or old non-slim xboxes.

If you get the kinect new on it's own it comes with the adapter if you get one in a pack with an Xbox it does not have the adapter.

They use a special plug not a standard USB so a normal one will not work
