It would have to be 300 Gib at 100Meg symmetrical + phone for $40 to satisfy you i think, we are not aiming to be the cheapest we aimtodeliver a quality product for a fair and competitive price, these plans based on average users totals and are pretty competitive... But we know your opinion of us and nothing we will ever do will satisfy you but we know we will never ever meet everyones requirements.

Ragnor: Good to finally see price changes for the BOF users!

Unfortunately for ADSL2+ none of the plans are competitive enough... For the price of Fusion 60 you can currently get 150GB on Telecom (create your own, no additional calling plan, $10 loyalty discount off the $99 list price) or on Snap you can create a 120GB plan for $90... basically not compelling enough for anyone who uses more than 60GB/month.

Well done, Xnet! Now your price is not shameful, just bad.

As a loyal Xnet user for the last 6+ years, and now as a high data user 120Gb+ per month there is too much of a divide between the 200Gb plan and the next plan down.

I'm moving to Snap VDSL on a 150gb plan which is still more economic and far faster than Xnet's ADSL alternative.

I will miss my Draytek devices and Xnet. Service was generally pretty good and sometimes excellent over the years.

In reality, if you check what plans and conditions another providers give to customers, you will see what will satisfy me.

Unfortunately, it looks like this...

1.5 year ago I would be extremely happy to see these plans, honestly.

Any update on vdsl plans for those of us who can't get ufb / bof but would really like a faster upload rate?

Nothing groundbreaking to report at this stage,  I know we are looking at VDSL options though and do have some internal trials happening.

I still don't see why you take your frustrations with Chorus products and pricing out on WxC. BoF pricing like WxC are offering now wasn't previously possible on the BoF service with the wholesale cost of the product.

It means that nothing done my Xnet and we should thank Chorus for these new plans.

To ChorusVan: well done!

Wrong agin.

From what I've heard WxC pushed Chorus to do something about pricing to align things better before the complex job of migrating these areas to UFB occurs.

Different technology/hardware installed and being used. Different Wholesale costs (what the ISPs pay chorus/telecom to use the equpment.. not what you WANT to pay) = Different pricing for caps and usage on BoF vs UFB vs Cable Vs VDSL/ADSL

We aren't dealing with a magical piece of string (copper) with only 1 way to tap on and access it and send infinate data at infinate speeds down it.  It's a super highway, with lots of on/offramps and different sized vehicles able to use it.

Sadly, at this point in time they can't all be aligned due to this. Yes us in non UFB fibre subdivisions are getting the shortest straw because of it.. but at least this isnt $99 for 15G anymore.

I too would be happy with a 50G 10/10 fibre plan for ADSL pricing, but as you can see.. due to further background constraints its 30/10.

It's interesting how you know when someone has an axe to grind you can predict what their posts were going to be like before you read them. Only real surprise is that it took 2 days and 1 hour longer than I would have anticipated.

I just try to help Xnet to be even better than they are now. It's difficult to become better without knowing what wrong with you.

Just switched from the old Torrent plan little bit more but I'm using more data during the day than at night so well worth it,
Took less than 2min on the phone I'm impressed!

For BOF prices are good enough and a huge improvement (until UFB conversion) given there is no competition and no other ISP's made the investment in offering plans imo.

However one price for all types of connection is bad for ADSL2+ users as plans are higher than competitor's rates... Not just higher than the budget ISP's like Slingshot but the mainstream ISP's like Telecom, Orcon, Snap.

That's precisely the reason I went with VDSL. 6 months ago VDLS was far more expensive that standard ADLS. Beginning of November Snap rolls out some new plans which makes it completely economically feasible. Also looked at Voyager 1TB of VDLS data plus VOIP = the same price as Xnet's 200Gb plan?
