Laptop Acer Aspire V5 Windows 8.1

Every few minutes, when I try to access any webpage via my home wifi, I get a "Webpage not Available" message.
If I right-click on the network icon and select "Troubleshoot Problems" i eventually get "DNS server isnt responding" If I then just click on "Reload" on the webpage its all OK again (until the next time, a few minutes later :-( )
When the laptop says it cant connect, other devices (phone, tablet) are able to connect just fine.
Does this mean I have a problem with the wifi adapter in the laptop?
Thanks

Are you using a Technicolor modem by any chance?

That eliminates the easy (known issue) solution then.

Is IP set via DHCP?

Its operating as an access point. DHCP is disabled.

So if the TP-Link is an AP, what is the modem itself?

Probably just the known Vodafone DNS problems.

We're using a TL-WR1043ND as an AP, and have a similar issue. It was fine for over a year before the problem started. Changed to DD-WRT firmware and it seems to have improved, but the problem does return. I'm looking at replacing our Netcomm modem with an ASUS modem and might look at getting a new AP at the same time.
