I have an Asus N55U with the latest firmware. I have been using this router with BigPipe for over a year then I moved apartment. The apartment already had a Spark UFB so I thought I can just plug in the router direct to the ONT just like how I have it setup with BigPipe. But it doesnt work. I have tried a factory reset and configured it from scratch and still no go. So now I am thinking that there is a difference between BigPipe's and Spark's way of delivering UFB. Can anyone help?

With BigPipe, my setting was PPPoA, but then I look at Spark and it seems they use PPPoE. I have a hunch that this is the main difference but decided to post here just in case.

PPPoA is only used on ADSL connections. Actual difference is that Spark use PPPoE with VID=10.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

I guess that is not it then. But that is the setting I have on the router and it worked with my BigPipe UFB hence I thought the only thing I needed to update was the username and pass.

I set it to PPPoE with VID 10 but still no joy. One thing missing from my options though was for the type of encapsulation which only has LLC and VC MUX. I read somewhere that Spark uses 802.1Q

But then it made me think that since BigPipe is a sister brand of Spark that they would have the same setup, I guess I was wrong unless of course someone can tell me otherwise :)

LLC and VC MUX are also ADSL only settings.

As stated, Spark use PPPoE with VID=10 (802.1Q bit). Bigpipe use PPPoE with no vlan tag.

They don't. They have the same owners, but different networks.

Username and password are not important, for both ISPs anything random will do. The important thing is to set VLAN. Post router screenshots if you still can't figure it out.

Also, just to double check what lights you see on the ONT? Have you confirmed you plug it in the right port?
