Hi

I have just purchased a new house and will be doing a complete re-wire of all the voice/data cabling.  I have a great room in the middle of the house that I will use as my 'hub'.  I will be installing a splitter and need some advice as where to place it.

Do I install it at the ETP and run a seperate cable to my room?  Or do I install the spltter in my room?

Can be either, but the ETP is a logical location, whatever you need a line from the ETP (or at the ETP with no splits between the inbound line and the filter) and use the splitter to provide a voice circuit that you can distribute where and how you like and a DSL circuit that should go direct without a break to your modem.

If you are building a hub in the sense of a inwall cabinet with patch panel etc then I would put the filter (and modem) there, so a direct clean unsplit line from the ETP to the hub, then use the filter to seperate voice and DSL.
