Thanks Jase, I thought it might be just a guide, rather than a must do.

Cat5 would not be on my list of draw strings, even if I had heaps of it spare.

What are the chances of fibre breaking? Isn't it inside ridgid conduit clamped to the house framing?

you have to remember its suppose to last many many years so its a good thing to have a draw cable in there in the eventuality something did happen. You could potentially have to re-install the conduit down the line if you didnt have a draw cable.

davidcole: Has anyone seen one of these enclosures with a full rack mount 24 port patch panel? Could something like that be installed vertically (since it wont fit horizontally)?

As I don't think there's a 16 port module and I'm not sure how 2x 8 port modules will fit.

I have one (Cabinet) in my house.. It was pre-wired up with Cat6/TV/Fibre etc when it was built. I can't remember what brand it is (as I'm not at home at the moment) but the multiple holes at the back allow to mount nearly anything to it.

(this only shows 1/2 the cabinet with about another 1/2 not shown.

There is a standard 19 inch patch panel in there with a ATA/ONT/Power/Mikrotik Router/Alarm etc (Mikrotik Replaced now with a RB2011).
It uses something like: http://www.dttech.co.nz/store/dynamix-patch-panel-brackets-series-enclosures-p-1491.html?osCsid=je7rfm2eadv6ru4h49fekr0iq6 to mount the patch panel.
