I see it as a 'free' connection because I have one Router for my modem & want another connection off it for the laptop.

I have one pc here at my place my partner has her lap top and a tablet , we have numerous phones , all connected on the one spark account .

The laptop and tablet and phones are all via wifi , and my pc is via ethernet

You do not need a separate account for each item connected in your home

Or do i not understand what you are actually trying to explain to us all ?

What do you mean by "I have one Router for my modem"? The modem supplied by Spark has the router built in. You shouldn't need a separate router.

To connect your laptop to the internet, you only need to connect it wirelessly or via a cable to the modem already connected to the internet. You do not need a separate device.

There is confusion over what equipment you actually have connected and working already.

Okay, if you have your main computer already internet connected and working, then all you need to do on your laptop is search for that network name in the wireless settings, choose to connect to it and enter the password for it when prompted. Then you should be up and running. You can have as many devices as you like running off one internet connection, and Spark will charge you once for the user account you have with them.

How about you actullay post up some useful information?

like:
who is your internet connection through
where did you get your modem from
what internet plan are you on
how is your modem connected to other devices
what are you trying to do with your laptop
what do you want the end result to be

we cant read your mind

I think we're going to need a diagram of how youre setup and then explain what it is youre trying to do.

From what Ive read so far, sounds like you just need to connect a wireless computer to a new wifi router.
If this is correct, then LittleHeaven is correct - enable wifi on your computer and search for the wifi connection from the router - but being a new router, it might not have Wifi on by default, so you would need to log into it to enable it.

If the PC / Laptop does not have WiFi then you will need a WiFi USB dongle
