@jevvv Didn't you have Gargoyle running somewhere you were telling me about? Did you get rid of it?

Still have it, haven't removed it yet. I'm guessing I can leave it on the current router which will end up acting as an accesspoint.

Honestly if you have a fast enough router I would stick with it, I love running Gargoyle and will be until I get Fibre at which time going to build a PFSense box.

I'll see how it goes - I'm familiar with the interface now, and it makes settings available that aren't obvious in the native TP-Link interface :) 

But since I don't have students any more I can probably delete the data usage profiles for them ;)

Right, I now have VDSL connected. To my computer. 

What do I need to change so I can plug my router in to the modem and they will play happily together? 

I'm sure there's a setting in the modem I'll have to change, and probably one in the router (which is running Gargoyle)

The modem is a NetComm NF4V VDSL/ADSLWiFi Gigabit Modem Router (I'm sure they could add some other stuff to that name) as supplied by Slingshot.

Need to bin the Netcomm and continue to use the Draytek Vigor 130 for VDSL2.

To put Draytek into VDSL bridge mode:

Then put Slingshot username / password into PPPoE settings on Gargoyle.
