Sorry, Intel Celeron (not Celerity - bloody autocorrect) N2830 2.16GHz vs AMD A10-5750 APU HD Graphics, 2.50GHz.

Is there a big difference between these two processors?

I found this, but most of it is Russian to me: http://www.cpu-monkey.com/en/compare_cpu-amd_a10_5750m-112-vs-intel_celeron_n2830-388

Yeah you should see a pretty big jump from the N2830 to the A10-5750. The Celeron 'N' series chips stem from the Intel 'Atom' line which were really designed for low power, not performance. The A10 series however is the top tier of AMD's APU line (combined CPU/GPU) comprising A10, A8, A6, A4. It's still a 'budget' laptop but should perform much better than her old one.

Thanks. Much appreciated.

My wife generally uses the laptop for surfing the net and Word/Excel, so I guess this should be OK for her.

(She's the kind of person who can have a LOT of tabs open at the same time...)

She just has to learn to accept it as it is! After all, it's only $300 and I get it with warranty too.

The old one, I purchased a couple of years ago for A$250 through Office Works (in Australia).
