Why not just use your ISP’s DNS? It doesn’t sound like you’re getting any benefit not doing just that.

Using any third party DNS while unlikely, may break things. It is less common these days however. Personally, I use NextDNS myself.

The firewall is running Unbound already so I was trying to find a reason to click "Use Unbound for DNS" rather than leave it at the current passthrough setting. As you say, I can't think of any obvious benefit but it seems a waste to have a fairly capable resolver sitting there idle.
