No your Cisco won't route 200Mbps, just because it has gbit interfaces doesn't mean it can route at close to that speed

It's old, low end and will be CPU bound

Please hit Quote above the post you're referencing to. Your posts are all over the place and very hard to follow.

But I am incredibly confused with what you're actually trying to achieve here. All you need really is an Edgerouter X and that'll do everything you need in a router and actually perform better than your Sonicwall.

As others have stated also - there is no such thing as a modem for UFB. It is a router. You do not need 2 devices so if you wish to use your Sonicwall you just need to set up DHCP over VLAN 10 on the WAN interface. That is literally all "IPoE" is.

lxsw20:

You want a firewall/router, not a modem.

What speed connection are you getting?

Thanks for your response.

What i want is a basic modem that does dialing via IPoE vlan10 to the ONT, then lan out to my firewall that is Sonicwall, (in ideal world i wanted to have my sonic router/firewall connected directly to ONT but it requires the Modem feature to dial via IPoE Vlan10 so it doesn't work, now i need to find another device that sits in between ONT and my Firewall, Ubiquity sounds good but not sure if it can do Modem Feature IPoE to ONT!?

Yes it is a bit confusing, the sonicwall doesn't show in gui that has options for IPoE, lookslike there are ways of configuring this by following their docos, and yes you are right the Edgerouter X is very convincing and i may go ahead on purchasing one, it seems that SonicWall doesn't have enough grunt to route 200 down as i received only 140 after routing through it.

Barry, as has been mentioned multiple time IPoE is infact DHCP, I am 100% certain that the sonic wall router supports this, if not I will eat my hat!, you will need to add that DHCP to vlan10 which would be on the interface connecting to the ONT. There should be no need to use another device over and above the sonic wall.

I agree, no need for wasting your hat lol :). will have to play with sonicwall, it would be amazing to see it working.

Question, do you know if this model can offer the speed Cisco 891F?
