Hi all,

Have just had a call from Downer asking for a time to come and do the install, I told them I am surprised they need to do an install as I already have Fibre-X200 and I am going to HFC Max which runs over the same cable, I am not sure what they are going to install when I already have this router hooked up to the cable for Fibre-X 200.

The guy on the phone from Downer was also confused and could not understand why Vodafone has placed an order for them to do an install but said he will send someone out anyway. Is this really necessary?

It will be to install the new cable modem and router for the MAX plan as presumably you have one of the older cable modems.

I had the same upgrade from FibreX 200 to UltraFast HFC in June. The cable modem, router and Vodafone TV were all replaced even they all had the same model numbers and were installed late last year. I suppose that they must be configured differently.

They also do a cable check, tighten compression connectors, make sure the lead-in is in good condition and the connection from the street is solid and not starting to fray.

It’s worth doing IMHO, connectors for my place we’re looking a bit ropey
