I'm using a router as a WAP so that I can use DNS4ME on a subnet / separate wifi network. It's rock solid. It's a bit tricky to get it set up so I can access it from the main network, but I probably wrote notes when I did it if anyone wants them.
What channel did you set the wireless to on each device? Could you connect to the second router previously through wifi?
Good question and probably something I should have mentioned first. I could not connect to the second router wifi from the start.
I thought this could be due to the wan/lan not set up as I had just reset to factory default before attempting my set up.
My android phone gave an error "unable to obtain IP" so I thought this is because there is no connection set up on the router.
Now making me think that there's some wifi interference, as ethernet cable connected directly to second router gives me internet access. I will confirm wifi channels later.
Second router has the 2.4ghz set to 20mhz only.
Not sure of 1st router, as I left that on default. Will confirm later.
Main Modem router 192.168.1.254 (Spark Router and default IP). Connected to fibre ONT.
Second Router 192.168.1.253. I couldn't choose 192.168.1.255
Yes, as mentioned, my pc was connected to second router and internet worked. I could also access the 1st router IP while being connected to second router with ethernet cable.
Just the wifi seems to have issues.
IP ranges are only from xxx.xxx.xxx.1-xxx.xxx.xxx.254
