Thanks @KiwiSurfer. Presumably you can have groups of 1 AP then, so an SSID can appear on a single AP only?
Installed on two systems. The first with only a single AP has had zero issues. The second system with 3 AP’s, 2 UniFi switches, an EdgeSwitch Lite, a Cloud Key Gen 2 +, and an ER4 is completely rooted. No internet and no internal networking on a system that has performed virtually flawlessly for years. Very unimpressed that a simple controller update can take out an entire network. Have factory reset everything but the ER4 and still nothing will work properly. Currently gimping along on an old no brand 5 port switch and one AP until I can have a good look at the weekend.
Cant even plug the cable to the shed in without things going to crap. I had to plug inside APs in one at a time and endure the flood of crap until it eventually got an IP and reprovisioned itself, then plug the next in etc. Switches all seemed to be ok with no AP plugged in, but switch and AP at once was no good. Seems that the USG was having a hard time with it and would drop wan connection as well.
I've just installed 6.0.22
But this is for a tiny, single flat LAN at home with 5 APs. It's working perfectly, but again, only APs no Unifi rooter thing (Vyos all the way baby)
So, just to say my system is now on 6.0.22 over 30 sites and 200 odd APs, so far no issues. I wonder if it depends what platform its on, mine is on a nix server, also I have always disabled wireless uplinks, and block multicast/broadcast from lan to wlan, not sure if this has saved me from all this mayhem that others seem to have got.

For what it's worth, two of my APs are uplinked wirelessly. No problems with them. I refuse to use the 5.x AP firmware though, every new release seems to be riddled with more bugs than the last. 4.3.20 has been up for two months for me with zero issues (touch wood)
It seems that the controller changed my vlan only networks to all be number 0, which made all the APs start to make a storm of epic proportions on the network leading to everything with a gutless CPU in it (cloud key and USG) to not be able to handle it and go unresponsive. I still have 3 APs and one switch to plug back in because I unplugged them from my patch panel and lacked motivation to figure out what socket to put them back into at 1am last night.

FYI - I only experienced the VLAN bug with 2 sites on my controller of which I promptly fixed otherwise it has been rather reliable. My own personal network has a bunch of VLAN's and was unaffected but don't have a USG or UniFi Switches.

For the most part my network is back up and running other than 2 x US-8-60W switches that are now in an endless adopting loop. They're still working under their previous configuration but essentially acting as unmanaged switches. Nothing seems to brining them out of the loop - all obvious courses of action have been attempted. I guess I'll have to wait for another fix from Ubiquiti or some sort of intervention from a networking nerd out there on the internet.
I've not had a problem so far. 3x APs and 1x Unifi Switch.
EdgeSwitch 16XG - not affected anyways
UniFi USW-Flex outdoor switch for a very specific use case - not affected (UniFi Control is only used 'offline' for configuration/updates from a VM).
According to its status page "Everything works great!"
(Obvious when UniFi gear has no control at all - or in other words: "Is it still dreaming or is it already routing?" ;-)

Just upgraded to 6.0.22 not sure if the mesh bug creating a loop is fixed, but keeping mesh off anyway in the AP seeings as I dont want to risk it

Mine wasnt mesh, it seemed to be my 2 vlans I had made as vlan only to allow me to put things with a pi between them and the internet became vlan number 0 which I assume set up multple interfaces untagged or something and that caused the storm. Even a single AP was flooding the network but at a volume that didnt seem to be enough to make things inoperative. Once they provisioned with the updated vlan config where I had deleted that, it stopped the storm and things went to normal.
