Static public IP won't help.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

I dont think a static IP will make a blind bit of difference - as others have said - it is likely related to the international bandwidth that MyRepublic pay for

danepak: I’m wondering if I’ve got an issue with my WiFi in the house:

Lately my IPTV service has been running very poorly. Lots of lagging.

When I run a speed test, I get decent speeds, so unsure why there’s lagging. Also, we all have no WiFi issues, when using our devices for Zoom calls etc.

I’ve got 2 x Cambium E410 wireless access points installed in the ceiling (downstairs and upstairs).

I can see that the TV is connected to the downstairs access point, not the one upstairs one.

I have an Amazon FireTV on WiFi that is having similar issues at the moment, with laggy IPTV.

I have a similar setup to you, two AP's, rock solid Internet and WiFi everywhere.

If I unplug my second AP the IPTV stream becomes rock solid, no buffering, so I have some roaming issue on my AP's.

You could try unplugging your downstairs AP and see if your issue is similar to mine.

MyRepublic is also really not good for international bandwidth - they really cheap out here. If international streaming TV is a big thing for you then consider moving to a better ISP which is pretty-much anything not MyRepublic.

Come to think of it: I’ve got another TV in the house. This one is hardwired and there are no buffering issues. So it might not be MyRepublic who’s the issue after all.

Time to get down to the old ruling stuff out part of troubleshooting.

If other devices can stream the same service fine, on the same internet connection, then it rules out an ISP issue

You say that another hardwired tv works fine, this means that it might be either a WiFi issue or a TV issue

Please connect the problematic TV to a hardwired connection and test and report back.  Depending on the results of this test will determine the next steps

I was just about to post, but you were faster than me:
I factory reset the wireless AP and voila, runs very well.
As mentioned earlier, my Danish IPTV service doesn’t work on the living room TV when hardwired, only via WIFI.
Netflix, YouTube etc works fine, when hardwired.

(The other TV works fine when hardwired for Danish IPTV, but it’s running through a MiBox, where the living room TV runs straight from the Sony TV’s built in Android system.

Excellent outcome.

Based on the testing my next suggestions were going to be firmware update the TV (to fix any issues with WiFi) and then adjusting the SSID settings (maybe TKIP was being used instead of AES?).

Glad to hear things got sorted though - you might need the streaming services if this lockdown is extended too long!

Thanks.
I’m still puzzled why the IPTV service doesn’t work, when the TV is hardwired.
Same issue when I was with Vodafone.

That is strange, ideally the networking method should make no difference for the software service.  However, if there is a static IP on the TV's ethernet connection it might account for the issue.  But I suspect it will all be DHCP.  Are there any firmware updates for the TV by chance?

TV firmware is up to date.
I’m waiting for MyRepublic to switch on static IP, as I want to test it.

Static public IP address has absolutely NOTHING to do with a static IP address on TV or another devices network interface.
