I am the proud owner of Overt Menthol Skunk and since early November he/she has earned me over 200 USD at todays prices, meaning a 6 month ROI.

I am on the discord channel although not a regular user of this site or discord I am afraid.

From what my research turned up there is little between them, the onboard antenna dBi differs and some use 8 or 4 Gb memory raspberry Pi's but there are all pretty much same from an earnings perspective.

It pays off to stay in touch with those operating hotspots around you because sometimes you can help each other with antenna placement.
According to the Helium Explorer the skunk is running off the stock antenna? Have you considered attaching an external antenna?

We just got 3 new hotspots in Lower Hutt and also 1 on the eastern side of the CBD so you should be able to make a lot more if you can connect with them.

Hopefully not considered spam, but I have developed and launched https://www.heliumnz.com to keep track of all the NZ deployments and their status

Skunk is restricted to the stock antenna in that locat I am expecting another hotspot possible this mon or next and may have a good site with coverage and can look at better antenna,as it is an outside install i need to get it powered and fully internet connected while remaining weather proof, all interesting areas

Get a PoE splitter and an outdoor enclosure. Only 1 wire from your house to the unit, no complications with high voltages mains. Seal all the cables nicely and off you go :)

Well, we don't like them. They are generally people placing several miners on a shelf in a house or data centre and claiming false locations (spoofing). They are saying they are somewhere else whereas they are sitting right next to each other. They use this method to game the network. Most spoofing has become useless since a recent update to the Helium Network (PoCv11) which invalidates transactions if the signals are too strong.

However there are still some leftovers in NZ from hotspots that actually do not exist here and cannot be connected to.

GoWifi is expensive ($1,121.25 incl GST) compared to PBTech pricing or even importing from Australia  https://www.iot-store.com.au/

Its in stock, I will have it next week and be earning. PB list 2 weeks away for stock and that will probably change.

I could get from AU, but again, its a time thing. Every second waiting is a second not earning. Now I have to get antennas on the way.

I have requested this post to be unlocked to discuss on how we are doing here? I have cashed out a bit of SOL when it was having a good run few weeks back.

I am looking forward to having a Helium Mobile here if they can launch it soon.

Anyone here have a GEOD node that can share their experience? https://console.geodnet.com/map

I have to repair the deck before I can get up onto the roof to install my geod node - its now been here for 3 weeks and I have not set it up because the ladder would just push thru the rotting upstairs deck. Will seal the hole that the old tv antenna cables came in thru at the same time and bin the FM and UHF antennas.

This is interesting. The majority of the mapped NZ base stations are part of the Geonet/LINZ PositioNZ network.
Is this a new source of Govt revenue or is someone making a buck from feeding public data to GEOD?

Where did you order the gear from? if you don't mind asking.

It's interesting to see the Helium Mobile revenue here
