My first ever AM radio network connection was with a 1MHz AM crystal(OA91) radio receiver.

heavenlywild:

Keen on the Spark modem 3. I take it I can still use it with a 2D connection?

I am using SSM3 on 2D fibre (gigibit).

Test a few moments ago.... Hawkes Bay to Auckland...

Smart Model 3 will work fine on 2degrees. You can also purchase the Smart Mesh 2 if you need to expand your WiFi.

You can use them out of the box with PPPoE (not sure if 2degrees has the requirement of requiring a PPPoE username / password still) else switch it to DHCP like below (ignore the VDSL):

If you do happen to get a Skinny Smart Modem 3 these are basically identical to the Spark Smart Modem 3 with only branding being the real difference here (it'll still work with a Spark Smart Mesh 2). You might consider actually moving to Skinny and getting one for free also - I'll leave that choice up to you :)

Sorry just did a copy and paste from 2D.

So keen to know if the TP would be better than the Spark Modem 3.

Also what confuses me is if these routers come with modems? Lol... It's been a long time as you can tell since I last looked into these things!!! 😄

The Spark smart modem 3 is still the best value for money.

Thanks. Seems hard to buy at the moment. It's not available online.
