You should try a factory reset:

Step 1: Power off the HP Jetdirect print server.
Step 2: Hold down the TEST button.
Step 3: Apply power to the HP Jetdirect print server.
Step 4: Continue holding the TEST button for 5 to 30 seconds. Your JetDirect Print Server has now been reset to factory defaults.

Alternatively, the page here has some slightly different instructions.

In any case, I suggest you unplug and plug the ethernet cable to ensure it's in place. Even better, try with a different cable just in case.

freitasm:

Spyware:

Explain why you can't set IP address via the printer control panel??

HP Jet Direct is a Printer Server. It's not a printer. There's no control panel. It's all via a web admin. No IP address, no web admin.

All of the JetDirect devices I dealt with were cards that slotted into the printers and you could use the printer's control panel to set the IP address on the JetDirect.  I personally never touched one of the OP's JetDirect 200M devices and am surprised to see it has a web interface.

@midhurst, yes try factory resetting the JetDirect, but first double check you don't have a cabling problem which is preventing the JetDirect from getting a DHCP address from the router.  Googling for the model J6039C reveals some online manuals if needed.

What port on the MX515v is the cable to the Print server plugged into? If it is the Lan/Wan port, try one of the other Ports.

I'm not familiar with the MX515v but does its admin interface have the ability to show you what network ports are in use, and what speeds they have negotiated?
Can you set the Port speed in the router, just in case the Print server can't negotiate with the router?
Are there any Network Link lights on the Printer server and or Router to show there is at least a connection?

Hopefully that factory reset sorts it out

I know some printers will only try once with DHCP upon power up which can be problematic if you power them on before connecting the network or if they power up before DHCP is ready on the network after a power outage.  Don't know if that's the case here.
