there are other ways to do it as mentioned. notice the word like :)
how about, borrow a device from someone...
I fully understand having spare VDSL modems around can be expensive, however as an end user with a non standard setup; you also need to realize you give chorus an easy out to NFF and claim it's your setup.
That's what the advice to drop down to a basic setup for a test - with the consistancy you seem to describe here, I would say it would take having someone over for a coffee? a beer?..

I don't know many people in NZ, but I'll see what I can find. Thank you all for the help.

For some reason that's not allowing me to get into the modem, I'll have to reset the modem and hook it straight again after everyone has gone to bed, or before everyone is up tomorrow morning.
Do this. Set up the DV130 as a normal modem/router and see what happens. Check the VDSL line stats. If the modem is a few years old, it could be something like a power supply on its last legs.

you can always ask on here, heaps of people have old all in ones lying around.
where are you?
Just a quick update, everything worked fine over the weekend on all devices, mobile, laptop, desktop and server. I'll keep an eye on it further to see if it reverts again. Thank you all again for the help and suggestions. Hopefully it's resolved for good. I'm guessing it may have been an old firmware on my vigor 130, though it worked fine for my brother in law. That's the only change I've made recently that I could think would have had any effect, unless something changed on my ISPs side.

What about the sync rate of the connection, you seem to completely ignore that to point of never mentioning it. Maybe the sync on outbound had dropped to only a few hundred kilobits/sec.
Oh, sorry I forgot about that, I'll have to reset my modem to get back into it when I have a chance, I wasn't ignoring it, I had simply forgotten.

Do you have a master splitter/filter installed to isolate VDSL signal to the one cable stub??
Hopefully this is what you are asking for, if not let me know. I was able to get into the modem by setting a static IP within it's subnet on my desktop instead of resetting it.
As for the master splitter, I believe my apartment has one, I seem to recall when the internet was first hooked up when we moved in 7ish years ago, the installer mentioned one, and I've never had a splitter at the wall.

ouch, that ikanos card.
What's the uptime on that screenshot? if it's just been reset to gain access... Something really isn't ok on the upstream path. (which being on the sender side, is often a CPE fault eg. cables, modem etc)

Everything was powered off and back on Friday afternoon. It's not been off since, however, it was uplugged from the router, straight into my desktop to get the screenshot.

Right ok, rough calculations assuming about 72 hours makes those numbers not as bad, although not the best!
While your plugged in like that, How is the connection feeling? still having the issues with no upload traffic?

Taubin: I've been getting ~60 down and ~20 up, Wich is average for me.
so in otherwords, directly connected to the DV130, you are not having the issues as described in this thread?
