From https://www.skinny.co.nz/help/modem-set-up/byo-modem

My BYO modem doesn't work, what can I do?

If you're on No pesky term, you can always purchase a Skinny modem from us for a one-off cost of $150 plus $10 postage and handling.

On a 12 month fixed term, you have two options. You can ask to be moved off our BYO Modem offer - we'll give you a Skinny modem free of charge, but you'll lose your $5 /month discount and there will be a shipping fee for the modem. Or you can pay the early termination fee of $99 and exit your contract.

Im on No Contract, but they charged me $199 + $10 postage for their modem.

EDIT: finally got through to someone on internet chat with skinny and she said that the man i spoke to this morning was mistaken, it should only be $150 +$10, but we will see when it gets charged.

There is some lack of information here about how things have been configured but the service could even be on the 2nd port of the ONT.

Yup, I tried 4 different cables in all combinations of ports between fritzbox and ONT and nothing.

Someone suggested in an earlier post to check with Skinny the ONT serial number to make sure connection is provisioned on the correct ONT.

Was this done?

I rang Skinny this morning to check this and they said they dont have the ONT serial number in their system, only that the connection is indeed live to the address.

Ask them to confirm what serial number is live. If it isn’t the serial number of your ONT then there’s your problem.

The man i spoke to said they dont have any serial number info at their end, just that the connection is live to the address I signed up with. To be honest, ive spoke to 2 people on the phone and 1 person via live chat and english seemed to be a barrier for all of them/ they didnt understand what I was asking.

They've got the ability to see the ONT serial number and they're all based in New Zealand...

Test with the new router you get (which you can get for free as above) and failing that you'll need to log a fault with them and verify the serial number.

We have been summoned!

@Youi If you DM us your address and the ONT serial # (a picture would be best) i will make sure it lines up our end and see what port Skinny have you provisioned on.

The nice chorus man has confirmed that the connection is indeed live from skinny to the ONT and its getting a good signal. Ive just been back to the property, unplugged the ONT and fritzbox for a few mins, plugged them back in, waited a bit, then tried 4 different ethernet cables from LAN1 ONT > LAN1 Fritzbox and nothing, the lights on the ONT continue to only be: power, gpon (or is that a d?), and lan1. Lights on fritzbox continue to be power and i think its wlan? (the one beside the power light).

Disable the IPv6 settings, Skinny do not support IPv6.
