My thanks to you all, but I have given up. I rolled my machine back to where it was. I returned the MS BT mouse and bought a nice little traveling wireless mouse sold by Memorex. My old BT dongle still sync's my Palm.

I was also trying to get help from Microsoft on this. Their final word tipped the scale. Here is what they sent me:

"George, regarding your other issue of not able to use the serial profile, the Microsoft Blue tooth stack currently supports three profiles namely:

1. Human Interface Device
2. Hard Copy Cable Replacement
3. Dial-up Networking profiles

Currently there is no support for the Serial Bluetooth Profile. Due to this reason, although we can pair the PDA and the transceiver, we might not be able to use the PDA with full functionality. As of now it is not possible to synchronize both the devices because of the incompatible profiles both o f them support. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

If this functionality is very important, you might in most cases avail of our refund option."

Is the a readme/update/feature list for 1.4.1.4 or 1.4.1.6?

I've just setup my MSI dongle with 1.3.1 from the MSI site and was wondering what the diff was.

Cheers,

Yep I've just downloaded and followed the ACER+DELL 'hack' on my toshiba portege laptop. The mouse now works, which is fantastic, however The BTTray icon is red, and when i try to 'enable radio' i get the press Fn+F2 to start it.

Is there another way to start the bluetooth radio without using the Fn+F2?

I've tried 'updating' the driver in device manager, but I get an FNF error when trying to update the MS driver, but the other standard driver updates fine...

any ideas?

this is bugging me cos I can't connect to the LAN without it!

cheers for your help

[edit:] I use a billionton bluetooth dongle.

hello,

i m using MS BT dongle, the link for 1.4.1.6 is broken but i was able to find the 1.4.1.4 from emule. after installing these, i was able to use picture transfert from my t68i via BT.

The only problem is that this version looks bugged with HID devices, i was able to authenticate my keyboar and mouse but when tryed to connect these, i get a msg with "connect to HID device ?" then i click yes and nothing happen. When i tryes to re-add my keyboard or mouse with the type selection set to HID device, the prog find these but when i click "add" i get reply that this hardware is not a valid HID device or something like that.

I hope 1.4.1.6 fix that bug, if someone have this file version please msg me or post a link here.

thank you very much

cya all and thanks for this good thread.

This software is useless with my Microsoft Bluetooth transceiver. There is some extra usage I get out of it, I can access my pictures, sounds, and themes on my Sony Ericsson T610 and download them to my computer...but that's it. I still can't pair my phone and computer together. I try to establish an Audio Gateway connection between the two, but 2 seconds after it starts, the connection is severed. It's the same when I try to simply pair the two devices, connects then suddenly disconnects. So I still can't use Sony Ericsson's Image Editor or MMS Studio. Not much closer than I was with Microsoft's drivers. Doesn't work with the T68i either. So in short, I am ditching my Microsoft Bluetooth stick for good! And get a dongle that works naturally with Widcomm 1.4. But if someone thinks they can help me with this, please do.

check the Anycom FTP site in the MISC Folder (ftp://drivers:bluetooth@www.anycom.com/)

It seems to require a license.dat file... good luck

Does someone have an already modified 1.4.1.6 build for Belkin, that I can get. I contacted Belkin yesterday, and they apparent have 1.3.2.7 in their hands, but they say they're not publishing it, because the F8T001 model I have is being discontinued......I've seen several folks mention it...could some one put up link to it. The link to GoalRay isn't working.

Many thanks in advance...

So you're saying if I get the Dell 1.4.1.6 driver INSTEAD of the one pointed at from GoalRay ( the link isn't working anymore anyway )...I should be able to patch the code in the btsec.dll with Nops ? If you have a different version of the DELL software ( they just updated their website ) how do you go searching for the proper patterns in the code, or are you looking for JUST those specific bytes ?

Can't someone just package up the files into a ZIP and post a link ? ( Yeah, I know a little lazy of me, but I've stayed up a few nights fighting with this now ).

(OFF TOPIC) I don't know why its not good or not fair to provide a direct link (its more convenient). I removed the link as soon as I saw your reply, I didnt mean to offend you, I'm very gratefull for the link. (Still I would like to know why?) (OFF TOPIC)
