The nice chorus man has confirmed that the connection is indeed live from skinny to the ONT and its getting a good signal. Ive just been back to the property, unplugged the ONT and fritzbox for a few mins, plugged them back in, waited a bit, then tried 4 different ethernet cables from LAN1 ONT > LAN1 Fritzbox and nothing, the lights on the ONT continue to only be: power, gpon (or is that a d?), and lan1. Lights on fritzbox continue to be power and i think its wlan? (the one beside the power light).

Green = Good. Red = Bad. On the fritzbox there should be a red light if there is an issue somewhere. Have you tried another device to connect to the fritzbox?

All the lights are green, except if I leave the fritzbox on for over an hour, the INFO light goes red to let me know theres an issue, the issue was "theres no internet" lol. Ive tried my laptop and phone to connect to the fritzbox, thats all ive got. Both my laptop and phone can connect to the Fritzbox wifi/with an ethernet cable, but theres no internet connection.

Brand new Skinny modem arrived yesterday, Tues 15th, surprise surprise.. it didnt work. Ive just been at the new place with Chorus for 1.5 hours, they replaced the ONT, they re-spliced some cables and still nothing, cant get the brand new Skinny Modem or my old Fritzbox to work. Rang Skinny whilst they were there, explained everything, the Skinny lady is trying to contact whoever in their team to see if they can post me out a new-new modem to try. The Chorus guys said that if Skinny send a new modem and it still dosnt work, then send it all back, get my money back, and change providers, they think that the new modem is bung and/or Skinny are doing something wrong at their end. Its the saga that never ends..

Just got the call back from the Skinny lady and she said that as im on a non-fixed term with them, they wont send a replacement modem, and i have to pay $160 again to get a new one. To which I, kindly, said "what in the actual duck, you have to be kidding" and sent her back to talk to the team again, as the modem only arrived yesterday, its not like ive been using it for months or years and am asking for a new one. I cannot believe how much of a shit show this has been, it ruined this week which was actually really really important to have teh internet on at that address and ive wasted a whole week of my friends time and so far 1.5 weeks of my time and effort trying to make this work. Its like no one at Skinny seems to be able to talk to each other or share info because every time I talk to some one, they have no idea what the story is for my account.

Very unlikely to be router problem given you proved fault with laptop and PPPoE connection and the Fritzbox as well. Have you looked at the Skinny router logs??

I don't quite get this. If you had chorus tech on site, tried two different modems and a skinny provided modem to boot, surely it is up to skinny to fix this? I'd bet my top dollar the issue is beyond your property!

No, I didnt check the Skinny Modem logs as I had been standing there with a sore hip for 1.5 hours whilst the Chorus guys tried stuff and I just wanted to get home to have lunch and sit down. I just spoke to the Skinny lady again and she said they ARE going to send out a new modem and a return bag and it will take 5-10 business days. More waiting. I have a very strong feeling that this new Skinny modem also wont work so I requested she send Two return bags so I can return both modems when ive confirmed neither of them work, and ill be getting my money back for the modem and for the $49 connection fee and changing providers, because at that stage, it literally has to be something going wrong at Skinnies end, theres nothing else to try!!

Skinny should also be able to see if their router is phoning home, i.e., the PPPoE connection attempts. Can they see these???

I'm not quite sure how you can say router wasn't working if you didn't even look at the logs.

Also get someone else (clean / different) device try connecting via wifi or ethernet to rule that out.

The chorus guys tried the Skinny modem, and trying to connect with my phone said "Connected without internet" and the light on the modem continued to be Red. I was kinda letting the Chorus guys try what they thought as im so burnt out by this atm. Skinny continues to say that the connection to the address is good and strong, and they had no idea why none of the three modems ive tried could be seen by my phone and laptop, but always said "Connected without internet". Sorry, im not thinking very well atm, im autistic and dealing with this has been such a head mess, im in burnout atm and im doing my best to try and get this working.

Yes, my friend tried with her phone to connect last night, and it said, as it does on my phone and laptop "Connected without internet" and the light on the Skinny modem stayed Red.

Are you leaving the router / ONT powered on? i.e. not just powering on, damn not working, power off and leaving. I'm sure you are, but just a thought...

GUYS!! IT WORKS!!!

Got an email at 8:18pm last night from Skinny saying that they had asked Chorus to refresh the connection (which has already been done in the last two weeks) and to try again. We went, we tried, it actually ducking worked. My fritzbox connected straight away, as did the skinny modem. Given that the line had already been refreshed previously, this still makes me think that someone at Skinny had either ticked something that shouldnt be ticked, or hadnt ticked something that should be ticked, for it to magically start working this morning. Skinny is already sending out a second modem, so I need to some how cancel that, and send back their first modem, that I only bought, because they promised it would work (I want to use my fritzbox, which does indeed now work, as it should), and some how get my money back for their modem which I dont need and dont want.

Should be easy. Just simply explain that router was to troubleshoot the connection. I'm sure it shouldn't be a problem assuming everything is still in perfect condition.

Glad you're up and running!
