Hi guys!

Bluetooth is totally terra incognita to me, but I consider using it in connection with a new laptop I have just ordered. A Toshiba Dynabook SS S9.

This machine does not come with internal bluetooth hardware so I am considering buying a Toshiba Bluetooth SD-Card 2, which will fit nicely into the SD-Card slot and leave USB ports as well as the single PCMCIA slot free for other purposes.

My question is: Has anybody tried the said SD-Card paired with a bluetooth headset, which is what I am particularly interested in using? -Messenger, Office, etc.

Any advice or recommendation is highly appreciated.

I haven't seen any specs, but you have to find if it supports the headset profile. Also the site says "notebooks and Pocket PC", and "requirements: Windows 98, XP, 2000".

Sometimes "Requirements" are the OS that is used to connect the Pocket PC so you can install the programs on your PDA - not always it means it runs on these OS.

Better check before buying.

Toshiba announced a new Bluetooth stack for the SDBT2 card which supports the headset profile.
Release date should be September.
Here is the URL for the Bluetooth Stack dowload area :
