Hi,

I'm getting reboots of my WRT160Nv3 when I try and copy a file from my PC (Vista) in my room to a Seagate drive connected to a WD Live box via USB in my lounge.

I've done a great deal of reading on this and am trying to pin down if it is the router or something else. I believe it is. When copying a file the file transfer will start and then early on the router will reboot, restoring network connectivity and internet access in around 20 secs.

I actually got a small movie trailer file to copy across successfully just 20 mins ago after reading to set my MTU to auto (changed from manual 1400). Just tried a larger movie, then tv show, then another trailer with all 3 not working.

I can view files and delete/rename them on the Seagate in the lounge over wireless. I really want to be able to transfer.

Router has latest firmware installed. Tried using Teracopy and that didn't work either. Do I just need a new router? I'm looking at the TP-W8960N after it was recommended on these forums, but I want to make sure the router is definitely the issue.

Appreciate any advice

Cheers

A LAN to WIRELESS file transfer causing the router to reboot definitely sounds like the router is the issue to me.
