We have recently moved into a rental home. We brought with us a Linksys modem/router which promptly overheated and died one day. I had a Thompson TG585 lying around so I set that up. It's not great and so I bought a TP-Link TD-W8960.
The TP-Link says that ADSL isn't available on the line - yet it is because I am using the ADSL on the Thompson to write this post. Note that this is the second one of this model that I have had as I swapped the riginal out with the retailer for the same reason. Everything else - wireless, ethernet, etc is working fine.
Is there an incompatibility between my phone line and the TP-Link chipset? What can I do?
