Hi,

Purchased a Cisco X2000 today.
Plugged it in and found that the CD didnt support my OSX Lion.

Downloaded the setup file from the linksys website and began configuring.
Have used all the correct settings and even double checked with VF helpdesk.

The router shows an Up and down speed and everything looks normal but there is no IP address and the connect button doesnt seem to work. The status is stuck on 'connecting'.

Weird thing is that the router software tells me my username and password (if im asked to use it).
Im asked to use it after saving settings etc and proceed to use the username and password its given me (well that I have previously set) and NO GO... not even the default admin admin or admin without a password !

GRRRR

purchased today from DSE. I think I'll take it back tomorrow.
Reboots and factory resets havent helped.

something screwy going on.

forgot to mention, I couldnt see anywhere logical to put the ihug / vodafone DNS address into.

Perhaps rather than using a utility log directly into the router using Safari.

The above link suggests 192.168.1.1 for the IP (use the Network Utility to find out your IP). Log in with a blank username and admin for the password. May be a good idea to factory reset before trying this.

Once you have logged into the router there would be a setup wizard where you can enter the PPPoA VC-Mux etc settings and the username/password required to connect to Vodafone.

If you set your laptop/desktop Ethernet to 192.168.1.13/255.255.255.0 and then connect to the modem on 192.168.1.1 you should be able to log into the modem with the default admin password.

I never use Linksys config CDs as it all sounds like to much work to me.

This is the basic input screen and really all you need is the Vodafone VPI = 0 and VCI = 100. If you have a Vodafone Username/Password you can enter that too.

my issue was that the router name and password just didnt simply work (after factory reset). Screwy firmware? Also had the correct settings etc (as per vodafone)....still no go.

Went back to DSE and another staff member mentioned I couldnt use any CISCO ADSL router on vodafone? Swapped it for a netgear and I was online in minutes.....increased speed too ! So a good win.

I've noticed a few issues like these with X2000 and X3000 on Xnet Internet connections. Test router would work no problem but these 2 models had problems getting PPP, not a username & password issue either.

Hello.

I just bought a LinkSys X2000 yesterday and I can't seem to connect with our Vodafone broadband.

Is this model really incompatible with Vodafone?

Any help is much appreciated.
