I've got 3 cisco routers participating in a DMVPN (2x 857, 1x 877), which works well.

Enabling CDP on the 857's works as expected, but enabling it on the 877 ends up killing the VPN to/from the 877.

Any pointers on where to look?

877:
System image file is "flash:c870-advipservicesk9-mz.124-24.T.bin"

857's:
System image file is "flash:c850-advsecurityk9-mz.124-15.T15.bin"

Try adding no cdp enable on the 877's tunnel interface that hosts your DMVPN.

Then you can enable CDP for the router to see local devices.

Enabling CDP on DMVPN is used for some additional features you wouldn't need with 3 sites.

Also if you have current SmartNets there is a newer release in the 12.4 train for 877's. 12.4(24) had a lot of DMVPN bugs and they weren't fixed until approx T4. I think the latest 12.4 for 877 was 12.4(24)T7 ish. You could be hitting a bug.

It's actually the tunnel interface I want CDP for. I had already tried disabling CDP on the interface - and in fact, even if it's disabled on them all, as soon as 'cdp run' is entered, the tunnel stops passing traffic.

Yeah, I've been suspecting as much. I'll probably be upgrading to 15.1 once the flash/dram upgrades arrive. ;)

Thanks for the reply.

Yep, CDP works fine after upgrading IOS (now on 15.1(4)M4).

Thanks for the help!
