Bought Belkin Bluetooth GPS Receiver off ebay to replace my ailing GPSmart.  After charging the receiver, Mapopolis recognizes the Bluetooth connection, but "The GPS unit could not be started."

Papers and CD with the Belkin Receiver talk only of Pocket PC or Windows usage.

Do I have a protocol problem?

Have you connected to the GPS or just paired? Some devices will only recognise a Bluetooth GPS after you open a connection - in this case just check what services are available and create a serial connection. Then configure Mapopolis to use this new connection.
