I have a Belkin wireless g-plus router. It works fine and connects to 2 pc's I have an ipaq hx2495 that works fine and connects 2 a whole lot of networks(including a neighbors in my hse...i can not get them working together. I have turned off all firewalls...changed channels..manually configured IPs....they just wont work with each other..does anyone have any suggestions??

Welcome to Geekzone... Is your router configured to use 802.11g only? Is it configured to use some "burst" mode? Turn these off because they do cause problems.

Also check that your router is not using MAC filtering.

Try using WEP or no security at all to connect for the first time, then enable WEP only, and try WPA last.

On your Pocket PC, when you look at the wireless network applet, does it say "scanning for networks"? When you turn wireless on, does it pop a dialog telling you about a new network avaialble?

Finally success!!! thank you. I checked the mode and insted of 54G auto I selected 54g LRS...whatever that is...it is now working...thanks again

In some cases, older 802.11b clients may not be compatible with 54g wireless. These adapters tend to be of lesser design or use older drivers or technology. 54g-LRS (Limited Rate Support) allows these clients to be compatible with the newer 54g technology. Switching to this mode can solve problems that sometimes occur with these clients. If you suspect that you are using a client adapter that falls into this category of adapters, first check with the adapter vendor to see if there is a driver update. If there is no driver update available, switching to 54g-LRS mode may fix your problem. Please note that switching to 54g-LRS mode may decrease 54g performance. It is not recommended you use this mode unless you have a very specific reason to do so. This mode exists only to solve unique problems that may occur with some 802.11b client adapters and is NOT necessary for interoperability of 54g and 802.11b standards.
