I am running winxp pro with sp3 and I am currently using a cable modem with a cisco wired router. I want to upgrade my router to wireless dual band, so I bought a Linksys wrt610n router but everytime I try to hook it up to my modem (wired or not) I can not browse the internet. I can ping and my connection looks good, but my hostname can not be resolved (error code 0x2afc). Does anyone know what my problem is, and how I can fix it?
Make sure that the wireless router has the same ip address, gateway and dns settings as the wired router, and then if you have done all that try power cycling the cable modem.
