Just got a bt dongle for my laptop and can now talk to my Nokia 6234.

When I step in to another room or leave my mobile on the desk and move my laptop, I go our of range.

Is it possible to get a bt repeater like a wifi repeater?

I'd also like to use my mobile as a handset for telephony applications on my desktop, is this possible?

Cheers Don

You could put your BT dongle on the end of a USB extension cable.
Or buy a BT LAN Access Point for network conenctivity only, not for serial port type stuff to a PC.

No, you cant use your handset for telephony over bluetooth (unless its some wierd super dooper one)

This is how Bluetooth works. It's a PAN (Personal Area Network) technology, and personal means around your space - hence the 10m limit, to keep it low power and restricted.
