I recently installed a TP-Link TL-WPA281 powerline wifi extender to increase the wifi coverage in my house. However, I am wondering if I have set it up correctly or if there was a better way. During the setup I used a different channel to the wifi router, and gave it a different SSID but the same wifi password. It works, but you have to manually change networks if you move from one part of the house to the other, ie take my tablet from the lounge to the bedroom. In some parts of the house both SSIDs are visible but one will have a stronger signal. If I had given the extender the same SSID as the router, could I move seamlessly around the house or would I open up a rift in the fabric of the universe?
