having got Bluetooth USB adapter, model f8t003, i managed to lsoe the cd which was with it.

so i went onto the belkin site and downlaoded the 1.2.2.9 driver. However this wouldn't allow me to isntall, and i couldn't figure out why.

So i then downloaded the 1.4.2.10 driver and this will install bluetooth but wont let me use it saying"your bluetooth software license does not include use with this device" and then makes melook for the liscense..i click on it and nothing happens. so i click bluetooth again and the same happens again.

i tried to use the old liscense and that didn't work either. I'm going nuts here. Anyone got any ideas? bear in mind i'm not too technical minded, especially when it comes to phones. It's actually for my dad but he knows less than i do and it going mad at me for losing the cd.

Help please

IF your device was using 1.2 it's probably one of the original Belkin models. I don't think the 1.4 update is intended for it. Perhaps you could try installing the 1.2 from the website using a newly created user belonging to the Administrator group?

Try running the 1.4.2.10 install process without using your original CD that came with your adapter. For D-Link's adapter which uses the same BT software, the old license.dat interferes with the install of 1.4. Also, you should be prompted for Widcomm's Security Key under this update. Check your install procedures for this new update and be sure to follow exactly.

Have you requested and received this key from Belkin/Widcomm? I don't know what Belkin's process is to get your key. Look on their support site and there should be a form to fill out and the key is emailed to you. You'll need to supply your adapter's MAC.
