for BT to develope more, because i can see now, the BT device are not well develope as standard. the 10m is not "waow", and the sound quality decrease when u steps out like 5m away from BT. and software ??? how many software are compatible for BT ?how many of you sync ur pc or p9000 with outlook ?

so may be ppl should wait until next version of BT :)

The 10m is there since the original standard was created, and the idea is to have a network of personal devices. As such, 10m is more than enough. For longer distances there are other solutions - but then you're no longer personal.

I think software is there. We just have to use it. The only way I sync my P800 is via Bluetooth. The only way I sync my i-mate Pocket PC is via Bluetooth. I use Bluetooth LAN Access Point to access the internet from my laptop.

Bluetooth is the transport, not the end result. Every software that can use a serial port can use Bluetooth. This opens up almost 100% of any software for PC that relies on communications. Including synchronisation.

Some devices lack profiles, but most have the basic profiles needed for its intended operation. We can't expect Network Access on a headset, right?

I think it can improve in terms of speed and ease to use. With Windows XP SP2 we'll see more Bluetooth support built-in the OS, like on Mac OS 10.2. This will help drive the devices. But think about it. When was the last time you found a USB device that did not need drivers?

10m is too short, if u surf on the internet in your house it would be very lagg !!??! i can't even go 3m from it before the HS sounds horrible......so where is freedom when u can sit in the backyard and voicechat with ya friends via yahoo or msn :)

I have a desktop, a laptop and a Bluetooth Access Point. The Bluetooth dongle on my laptop is Class 1 (100m) and so it's the Access Point. It works fine.

I leave my P800 charing in the lounge and synchronise from an office without a direct line of sight. Same for my i-mate. The distance is probably around 8 meters.

As I said it depends on the use. The headset is to be used close to the phone. In general you'll have it in your Pocket or briefcase. This will probably be around 1 to 2 meter max.

It all depends on the use...

i don't know if it is a software, but my Headset sound terrible when i use voichat. and i sit right nex the the dongle (1m). not even 10m but 1m........wtf ?? i think i must be the 1the dongle, 2 is the software...3 the dongle support max 10mm ? ;)
