I am with telecom looking to jump to voda because of some deal ...

My question is - is the Voda modem any better than the Thomso 585 that I got from telecom - very poor wifi range ...

Thanks

:D

I guess the question was too specific for that other thread which was mainly asking about the Voda package whereas I can ask a specific question in the modem forum ...

But they block SIP and force you to use the 2 built-in analog outputs if you want a voip phone number. Voip traffic gets redirected through some obscure tunneling protocol, probably for QoS but seems to block SIP traffic from going to other VoIP providers.

Time to find a new industry!

I use VOIP provider 2Talk in conjunction with my Vodafone BB connection, as do a number of other GZ users. It's pretty easy to enable SIP on these modems.

EDIT: If you go down this route you'll need to enable Telnet first, then disable it when you've finished.

Don't know about this one. The old HG520 Wireless G modem was nice, and very stable. We had no end of problems with the Broadband Complete - the wifi or ADSL wasn't very stable from memory. Changing to a Draytek Vigor 120 and TP Link TL-WR1043ND fixed it completely though.

The LCD on the station is very cool!
