Hi

New to forum usage.

I would to know if it is possible to use Explorer on PDA (Garmin iQue M5 - Win Moble 2002) conected to a Cell Phone with Blustooth. I would prefer to use the PDA not the Cell Phone as the Modem so that I can use my reg minites and not have to buy Internet minites. I do not have a Bluetooth cell yet.

Yes, you can, although I suspect Bluetooth support on Pocket PC OS 2002 is not that great. Also, if you are thinking of using your minutes you probably want to use CSD (circuit switched data) which is not always available from all operators, and will limit you to 9.6 Kbps.

On the other hand, using a data packet connection (3G for example) will give you high speeds (if connected to CDMA EVDO or UMTS depending on your operator). However not all Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones can be used as a modem.

If you don't have the phone, an alternative is to actually get a newer Pocket PC Phone Edition to replace your Garmin, this way you would have a single device instead of two, and with much higher speeds.

I miss spoke the OS is Win Mobile 2003. Processor is XScale PXA272 @ 416MHZ. Bluetooth Ver 1.1.
I just got the garmin M5 to replace the Garmin 3600 (palm OS) and realy dont want to replace it.
I wound prefer not to use the Cell Phone as a modem.

Ok, much better.

The only way to connect to the Internet via a mobile phone is to use it as a modem. This is done via Bluetooth DUN (dial-up network). You can connect to another modem (CSD) or connect to a packet network (GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, CDMA depending on your provider).

No other way...
