Hi, wondering if someone can help (I am no expert btw!). I am experiencing frequent disconnections from router (TP Link TD-W8960N). It's only about 6 months old. Internet will drop because wireless router signal disappears i.e. my routers name will disappear off the wireless connections list and toolbar will just show the bars with a yellow star over them. Signal is usually 4-5 bars when its connected and house is a small place. Happens even when 3m away with no walls. When opening wireless connections I can see all the neighbors connections still. After a while of refreshing the list my router will reappear and automatically connect. No problems with internet i.e no yellow triangle over the bars. I tried changing the channel the router is on but still happening. Happens to both PC and Ipad. Any ideas?
the antenna isn't loose or anything? Is it only affecting the wireless? ie can you still use internet from a cabled line to the PC while the wireless has dropped?
Have not tested with laptop connected via cable as it happens too quickly and not convenient to have it connected all day. Antenna seem fine. I used the inSSIDer program and switched channels, its improved since then (previously on auto and then on channel 1) but still happens a couple times a day. Screenshots attached.
