So my problem is I just moved house and with snap I have a fritzbox 7340. When I had chorus here he tested it with his Thompson tg789vn

My fritz will get 20 down 2.5 up.

His Thompson gets 44 down 9.5 up

But at my old house my fritz got 39 down 9 up.

We have run cat 5 from the street to skip all internal wiring and it doesn't help my router.

Snap have tried but cannot figure out what the problem is.

So my questions are does anyone have any idea what I can do to try fix my fritzbox or where can I buy these Thompson routers? I would rather fix my fritzbox..

Thanks for any help!!

I'm assuming this is sync rate, not speedtest results (which are pretty meaningless)?

screenshot of your spectrum page on the fritz? might help indicate what's up.. seems odd to have that much variation (assuming sync rates)

Have you\snap tried a factory reset of the fritzbox?

Yes I am talking about sync rates not speedtest

Edit: I have talked to snap for hours, had them do port resets from chorus and factory reset the router

But you don't want to post the actual ADSL stats shown on that spectrum page?

Time to find a new industry!

Most of your bins are missing. If you're able to get much faster speeds on the Thomson using the exact same cables and cable running between the jack and modem one would have to suspect the modem.

Have you (or anyone) used the fritzbox for ADSL before? Or only ever VDSL?

I'd have to say it's a pretty clear indication that your modem isn't right.

Personally I'd skip both those and get a Zyxel.

No its never been tried on ADSL, I downgraded the firmware today and was able to get a instant 38down 10.1 up. After unpluging the router and moving it ive never got dsl sync again, have just had the ports refreshed with no luck, chorus coming to the cabnit tomorrow to look at it apparently but i have completly lost faith in Snap! Even to get a "test" router sent out will be at least a couple of weeks
