Dear all.

Very newbie question.

I wanted to stream iplayer so signed up with witopia on the basis of they were mentioned on lifehacker and wanted to play there and then and so didn't spend time on the forums looking at other providers. Have the pro account. (https://www.witopia.com/products/)

As I am only after the location hiding properties does the type of encryption protocol have any effect on streaming speed ?

Using Ubuntu 12.04 I was getting 500 Kbps which was ok for standardish definition .

Separate question is why iPad safari doesn't work on iplayer using VPN here but did when I was in uk last month ?!

Any other iplayer tips ?

A.

I think you will find Witopia over OpenVPN would be probably faster for using UDP instead of TCP...
