A friend has a Thomson TG 585 V8 Router with Software release 8.2.7.7 using WPA(2)-PSK encryption. With You can connect a device (computer or wireless printer) after entering the pass key, however later on, usually the next day the device will not reconnect and you need to re enter the pass key.  The printer can be difficult to connect it won't connect using the WPS button.  The only successful way has been to turn off the encryption, turn the encryption back on and manually connect entering the pass key.

Also I noticed that even though the date and time was set to automatically update the date and time was wrong with the year being 2000.  I was able to set manually but when you re select auto and reboot the router the date defaults back to the year 2000 and the time is also wrong.

Any ideas would be appreciated.  Thanks.

I have an update.

After a bit of Googling and trial and error I may have solved the problem though it's early days yet.

The router channel was set to auto and channel 6 was the channel in use.  I did a search for other routers on the neigbourhood to find which channels they were using and their relative signal strengths.  I then set the router channel choice to manual and chose the channel with the least users and weakest signals.  As soon as I did this the printer which had become disconnected, immediately reconnected. The other devices which were not always staying connected have so far remained connected.

Time will tell but this looks like the solution.
