Hi all....this site is absolutely fantastic. Here's my problem...I've been through both of the BT setup guides to no avail...checked the COM ports....I'm running Win2k on laptop with Belkin BT USB, and trying to sync Outlook with my T610. Even with the correct COM port in client services set to enabled, when I try to run XTNDConnect (with phone BT on and paired) I can't find anything. I saw another post that recommended starting the BT serial port first...I can do that fine, but once the XTND connect tries to connect I see the connection status icon on systray go back to white and a few minutes later "no device found". When I try to sync using native BT, it appears to sync but a minute or two later I get "PIM Interface failed".

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I suppose you have already change the monitor to listen only the COM port used by Bluetooth as incoming? You ay want to try to Reserve it.

Have you tried synchronising via Bluetooth PIM Sync service instead, to see if it works?

Yep- when I try to sync using the BT PIM (native) Sync, it appears to sync for about a minute or two, then I get the "PIM Interface Failed". The funny thing though is that my contacts list does appear to sync to my phone, but my calendar and To Do list do not sync

Do you have any firewalls installed on this computer?

the only firewall is the one built into my vpn...even with vpn secured I still can only get my contacts to sync, but not my calendar and my ToDo list. With the XTND software, it seems as if it wants the phone to already be connected before runnignthe program....I'm just not sure how to establish the proper connection first. Thanks for being so responsive!

Your Outlook is allowing access to PIM? Newer Outlook versions and MS Outlook 2000 with SP1 will require you to Allow or Deny access to PIM information, and for how long. If you don't see a dialog like this, it may be that communication is not complete somehow.

I too have the same problem. After completely rebuilding my wifes PC and reinstalling all software my wifes T610 will not synchronize with Outlook. I am running a TrendNet / WIDComm BT dongle v1.4.2.10, Windows XP SP1 with all updates and Office XP SP3.

As in a previous post I too have noticed the security warning from Outlook no longer appears. I believe this to be the key of the problem. I have googled this problem and found no information on this problem. Can anybody help?

P.S. I plan to rollback the software installations on my wife's PC using the XP System Restore until I get to a point where the bluetooth sync works properly. I'll update my post with the results.

This can be a REAL prick to setup, it really really can.
The problem is SonyEricsson's stupid "Phone Monitor" program is basically useless as tits on a bull (as my father used to say)

Load it up from the control panel and make sure it's listening on the same port that the Serial Port in bluetooth maps to. It's very confusing, it took me quite a while to figure it out.

In the end I ditched it anyway and went with Float's Mobile Agent, http://fma.sf.net. It's free and it syncs everything apart from your meetings etc. Though there is a new alpha build that syncs with outlook, I haven't tested it though.

Goodluck getting it working either way, it can be done after a lot of trial and error.

Audiophiles are such twits! They buy such pointless stuff: Gold plated cables, $2000 power cords. Idiots.
