Hope someone can help.

I've got an Ipaq 1945 and dongle on Desktop PC and I've mangaged to successfully get ActiveSync & DUN working via Bluetooth with the help of the excellent guides on this site.

However, for the life of me I can't get File Transfer or Network Acces to work - I get the error

"Error in pairing with device Pocket_PC.
Reason: Timeout occured during paring"

Help!!!

what am I doing wrong?????

Any thoughts appreciated!

Are you trying the Network Access with the same PC you have ActiveSync established? In this case you shouldn't need to pair again.

When doing File Transfer or Network Access you may have an authorisation bubble showing up on your computer. If you don't authorise in time (10 seconds) the connection is not established. Are you doing this close enought to your computer to check?

If this is the case, you can change a registry key to allow connections to paired devices but without requiring authorisation.

freitasm, thanks for your reply.

Yes, I'm trying to get Network Access/File transfer on the same PC that I BT ActiveSync with.

No, I don't get an authorisation bubble trying to connect Network Access or File Transfer on either Pocket PC or Desktop PC, just the error message after about 30 seconds.

Can you tell me the registry key needed, or will this be of no use?

I still would like to have NA or FT with my 1945, so is this possible????

Thanks

What Bluetooth dongle are you using (brand and version)? Some may not have Network Access, depending on version.

Have a look on this thread.
