I have Hp rx5900 and nokia 6280... How can i make them to communicate. I would like to use hp as on handsfree set to control my mobile phone... Not like bluetooth dialer...

You can only use it as a modem for your PDA.... Other functions are not available.

Because the devices do not have the appropriate Bluetooth profiles for this to be possible.

What profile it needs? Ipaq has handsfree/headset profile (audio gateway)...

The profile on the iPaq is used only for other headsets to connect to it - not to connect the PDA to phones as a headset.

Is it possible to edit registry/buy software to use needed profiles or is it just impossible to use pda for that?

There's no software for that because this would involve changing drivers that are delivered with the PDA and this is not possible.

but it is possible to change the drivers on your PDA if you use Linux on it.

There is a bluetooth stack in gammu that has open source C code for the (slave) SCO voice profile. Gammu is phone management software that can handle calls, SMS, etc.

So if you can use familiar Linux (or OpenMOKO, Xanadux, etc) on your iPaq and install Gammu on it, then you could use your PDA as a 'headset' for your Nokia. This would be more trouble than it is worth if you are not experienced Linux user.

Yes, that would work. Just remember that if you don't know what you are doing and the PDA is fried then you will have to send it in for repair. Also if you ever want to revert from Linux to Windows Mobile then you will have to send it for repair.

Having said that, your geek creed would skyrocket - not everyone is running Linux on Pocket PC.

there is a way to boot-load Linux with a Windows Mobile executable bootloader/debugger - GNUharet.exe
Linux can be configured to live on a partitioned SD memory card so Windows remains in-tact, just like dual boot on PC

I have managed to "dump" a bootloader image of the WinCE (Windows mobile) and have restored countless PDA's with it.

My current harrier dies and I did this little trick and restored it from flash a few months back!

My Qtek 1010 (Wallaby) has been reflashed many a times... Like all hacks, just be VERY CAREFUL or it's an expensive paperweight.
