A little about what i use:

Win2k
Dlink Firewall
Trendnet Widcomm Bluetooth dongle (v1.4.2)
hp ipaq 4355
turtle beach santa cruz sound card

I just got the bluetooth dongle, this is my first bluetooth adapter as well as my first PDA. I noticed that i had no sound after i installed all the drivers for the bluetooth adapter. I coudln't get it to sync the first time i was playing around with it, but after uninstalling it, i finally got bluetooth to use active sync using com port 3.

Once i uninstalled the drivers for bluetooth, i got my sound back after a reboot. Of course i had to reinstall my bluetooth, and once i did, the sound was gone instantly.

A friend of mine suggested that I move the PCI card to a free slot, but that to me seems like more work then i'd like to do. I did a search for my problem on this forum, and somebody else had the same problem as me, and the funny thing is that he had the same sound card too, so i'm not sure if its a hardware comflict either. But in his thread, he mentioned that he fixed the sound problem by reformating the entire drive. I dont think i want to reformat my entire drive. (Here is the link to that related thread: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=8&TopicId=1042)

I tried to update the drivers for the sound card, but that doesn't work. I guess i'm out of ideas, and i need some assistance. Do you guys think i should do what my friend and just move the sound card to antoher slot? Would that surely solve it, or likely? Is there another route i can take? Or how can i, without reformating my computer, have the same results as the guy who had the same problem as me? He didn't have to move any hardware around.

Anything would be a great great help!

It may sound simple, but have you checked on Control Panel, Sound and Audio Devices?

There are two dropdown lists where you can select which will be your default device when playing/recording sounds. It should switch to Bluetooth Audio only when using the headset profile, and revert back to your sound card when the headset is off.

Is there other options in this list? Can you select it? If not then this is a problem with the Windows registry probably. Have you tried this on another user on the same computer? If you create another user and it works fine then it's your user profile no doubt.
